Peppa Pig’s Discovery Playroom opens at the Natural History Museum

Published on: 8th August 2023

The Discovery Playroom will offer interactive events, including meeting Peppa Pig and her family face-to-face and storytelling sessions from Lucy Walters.

Hasbro and the Natural History Museum have joined forces to transform one of the Museum’s shops into a playroom of Peppa Pig discovery. Visitors can join Peppa Pig and her brother George on an immersive play experience in the heart of the museum, to learn all about their love for the planet. Open from Friday 4th August until Sunday 10th September, the attraction is perfectly timed as an ideal family activity over the summer holidays.

Children can discover why dinosaurs are George’s favourite animals, choose a book to enjoy story time with Peppa, get creative with themed colouring and activity sheets, draw their own dinosaur in the craft zone and relax and watch their favourite Peppa Pig episodes.

There’s the chance to meet Peppa Pig and her family face-to-face every Monday, alongside other interactive events planned throughout the Discovery Playroom’s run. Visitors will also get the opportunity to listen to storyteller, Lucy Walters, reading some of her favourite Peppa Pig stories every Wednesday throughout the summer holidays, with three sessions throughout the day.

Many Peppa Pig-themed products will be available, including Peppa Pots to encourage children to plant ‘easy-to-grow’ seeds; Peppa Pig Wooden Family Figures; Peppa Pig story books, including ‘Peppa Loves our Planet’, and Peppa Pig-themed clothing.

Sara Westby, UKI Marketing director at Hasbro, commented: ‘As a brand that embraces building confidence and inspiring curiosity in little ones, Peppa Pig’s Discovery Playroom is a fantastic opportunity for children to explore nature through the eyes of much-loved Peppa Pig. We are thrilled to join up with the Natural History Museum to transform one of its retail spaces into an interactive experience for museum visitors and Peppa Pig fans.’

Sam Barnes, Retail commercial manager at the Natural History Museum, said: ‘We are delighted to be working with Hasbro on this unique experience for Peppa Pig fans. The Museum is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of advocates for the planet, so this Discovery Playroom is the perfect place for young minds to learn all about their favourite character’s love for the world of nature in a way that is fun for all the family.”

Peppa Pig’s Discovery Playroom is located within the museum’s main shop, by Hintze Hall. Every purchase from the Natural History Museum shop and online store helps to support the Museum’s 350 scientists and their vital work, including finding solutions to the planetary emergency.
