The former Spin Master licensing exec will develop and launch licensing and consumer product programmes for Invisible Universe’s suite of IP.

Invisible Universe, an internet-first animation studio, has announced the appointment of Shane Mang as its new head of Licensing. Shane joins Invisible Universe with over a decade of licensing experience at several top children’s entertainment corporations including Spin Master, The Jim Henson Company, WildBrain and more.

“Invisible Universe’s characters have already proven the ability to jump off the timelines of Instagram and TikTok and into publishing, digital collectibles, toys and more. As we look to supercharge the franchise extensions of our suite of IP, Shane is a critical hire to bring our vision to life,” said Tricia Biggio, co-founder and CEO of Invisible Universe. “With his extensive expertise, industry relationships, and experience working with iconic kids’ brands, I have no doubt that Shane will help our IP to become the next generation’s favourite toys, books, games and more.”

As head of Licensing, Shane will develop and launch licensing and consumer product programmes for Invisible Universe’s growing suite of IP. The company incubates IP on the platforms consumers are spending most of their time, which has amassed over 10m collective followers across platforms and includes Serena Williams’ Qai Qai, Charli and Dixie D’Amelio’s Squeaky & Roy, Jennifer Aniston’s Clydeo, Ember, and others. He will spearhead the ideation, development, and release of new consumer products in partnership with top-tier toy companies as well as expand Invisible Universe’s franchise opportunities.

“Modern content platforms are rapidly altering how people discover and interact with their favourite characters and franchises. Invisible Universe is leading the charge on these changing consumer habits like no other company,” commented Shane. This creates immense opportunity for retailers, manufacturers, entertainment platforms, and ultimately for our consumers. I’m excited to turn these franchises into household names and to build these programs alongside other best-in-class content and consumer goods companies.”

Prior to Invisible Universe, Shane served as the director of Global Sales and Outbound Licensing for Spin Master. He has developed and expanded a multitude of successful licensing programmes for globally renowned entertainment franchises including Rubik’s Cube, Paw Patrol, Bakugan, Tech Deck, Mighty Express, Hatchimals, Teletubbies, Caillou and Jim Henson’s The Labyrinth and Fraggle Rock. He was also recognised as a Top 40 under 40 Licensing Professional and serves as a West Coast Ambassador for Licensing International.
