Newly formed Renaissance Licensing unveils initial roster

Published on: 17th January 2024

Renaissance Licensing, founded by Liz Van Denburg and Ryan Kernan, has signed multiple celebrity and brand clients for representation.

Renaissance Licensing has announced its inaugural client roster, including the estate of film star Steve McQueen and the file-sharing brand LimeWire, for global representation. The company also represents the UK-based illustrator duo, Snowtap, for the North American market. Renaissance is actively pursuing all categories and will soon announce a range of new partnerships to debut in 2024.

In addition, the company has formed strategic partnerships with both ALG Brands and 4 Art Partners. Renaissance will work with ALG Brands to expand the product programs for select clients on a global scale. The company will also assist 4 Art Partners in bringing its roster of fine artists and illustrators, including Edward Gorey, Remedios, Omar Rayo and many more, to new markets across a wide range of categories.

Chad McQueen, the only living child of legendary actor Steve McQueen, said of the company’s formation: “My family and I are thrilled to be working with Renaissance Licensing and to continue protecting my father’s legacy with Liz and Ryan. We have worked with both of them for years in their prior roles and look forward to their continued partnership.”

Renaissance’s partners have worked together for nearly a decade, and bring their expertise and industry connectivity together for the benefit of their clients.

Liz Van Denburg began her career in 2006 at the Walt Disney Company, followed by time at Beanstalk and a long tenure at Greenlight/BENlabs, where she led the development of the Steve McQueen and Albert Einstein global product programmes. Her areas of expertise include health and beauty aides, tech and men’s apparel, in addition to motorsports and automotive accessories.

Ryan Kernan has over 15 years of licensing experience with celebrity and home furnishings brands, including Nautica, DwellStudio, Ernest Hemingway, Marlon Brando, Charlie Chaplin and many others. His areas of expertise include men’s, women’s and children’s apparel and accessories, home furnishings and hospitality. He has extensive experience in international markets, in addition to deep knowledge of the North American market.
