Moonbug appoints Yasmin Zahid to head up distribution in APAC

Moonbug Entertainment, a part of Candle Media, has announced the appointment of Yasmin Zahid as the company’s new head of distribution and brand partnerships, APAC.

Reporting to Nicolas Eglau, managing director of EMEA and APAC, Yasmin will be responsible for strategising Moonbug’s long-term growth in APAC to build out global franchises. Kelly Cooke is leaving the company to pursue new opportunities.

In this role, Yasmin will extend Moonbug’s footprint in channel and content syndication by forging new partnerships and amplifying existing partnerships. She will also focus on creating originals with key platforms and broadcasters in the region building on Moonbug’s recent successes within the region, including the launch of Moonbug’s linear channel in Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines.

Previously, she served as the executive vice president and head of affiliate and B2B distribution at WarnerMedia, overseeing the successful launch of HBO GO in critical markets across Asia in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. With thirty years’ experience in affiliate marketing, business development and GTM distribution for pay TV markets across Asia, Yasmin brings a wide network and deep understanding of the regional media industry and trends that will be key in developing Moonbug’s growth in the region.

Yasmin’s first day at Moonbug will be 17th July.
