Industry experts join new future-forward media company Lunar X

Rachel Taylor and Rafi Nizam have joined new media company Lunar X, which has launched with 60 employees across four locations.

Former executives from WildBrain Spark and the BBC have joined the leadership team for a new media company dedicated to investing in and elevating digital-first content into globally loved franchises.

Lunar X is founded by CEO Lucas Kollmann (a Forbes 30 under 30 recipient) and has a leadership team comprising leading investors, entrepreneurs and industry figures, including Rachel Taylor, senior vice president, Commercial, who joined Lunar X from WildBrain Spark where she was vice president Commercial. Rachel has also held senior leadership roles at Sony Pictures Entertainment, Twentieth Century Fox and Australian toy company Funtastic.

Also part of the leadership team is Rafi Nizam, senior vice president, showrunner & executive producer, who has 25 years of experience in the media and entertainment industry and has won numerous awards for his work. He has also held senior creative roles at Sony Pictures Entertainment, NBCUniversal and BBC.

Lunar X is focused on connecting global communities through engaging storytelling on the most prominent global platforms, such as YouTube and Spotify, to provide content and experiences that are educational, innovative and entertaining.

Launching with more than 60 employees across four locations – London, Berlin, Madrid and Los Angeles – the business also aims to redefine industry standards and partner with creators to inspire new ways of delivering engaging digital content in education, entertainment, music and children’s animation.

We are passionate about partnering with extraordinary people to bring their unique stories to life and give global audiences access to exciting new content,” said Lucas Kollmann, CEO and co-founder of Lunar X. “With creativity and community at the heart of what we do, we want to inspire the next generation to push the boundaries of what’s possible and develop first-of-its-kind content.”

He added: “We will utilise our expertise, reach and talent to accelerate our growth and enable more world-renowned content franchises. We are very excited about what the next 12 months will bring.”

Lunar X intends to grow its portfolio of world-leading new brands and franchises through organic activity and acquisition, with the management team looking at a raft of exciting opportunities in 2023.
