Paramount celebrates Yellowstone success with immersive experience

Published on: 26th April 2024

Special guests were invited to don their Stetsons and step inside London’s Moonshine Saloon for an afternoon of rootin’, tootin’ yee-haw Yellowstone fun.

Wednesday 24th April saw a selection of trade journalists and licensing partners gather to celebrate the success of the Yellowstone franchise.

Inside London’s lamp-lit Moonshine Saloon, guests – replete in cowboy hats and ponchos – were treated to a carefully curated selection of themed cocktails as well as a presentation on the Yellowstone franchise’s content development and licensing programme plans. Standout consumer products from some of Paramount’s most valued licensing partners, including Funko and Hunter Price, were also on display, including Pop! vinyl, apparel, cookware and cookbooks, sweets, fragrances and homewares.

With the presentation over, those enjoying the saloon atmosphere were then immersed in a lively and exciting afternoon of outlaws and intrigue, as Clyde Cassidy – the dark and dashing husband of saloon landlady Ada – went head-to-head with the fearsome Sheriff Leroy over Clyde’s illegal moonshine business and the unsolved murder of Ada’s father. Between cocktails, the assembled cowboys and cowgirls could enjoy ‘gambling’ with dollars generously provided by the establishment, bid on shots of ‘snake oil’ and find out more from Clyde and the sheriff about who suspected who of the murder – and why.

After a riveting few hours, the event culminated in a dramatic shootout – and another cocktail for the road – before guests turned in their hats and ponchos and swapped the Wild West for Houndsditch at the end of the day.

One of Paramount’s most popular properties, Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone follows the fortunes of the powerful Dutton ranching family, overseen by patriarch John (Kevin Costner). In the face of corporate land-grabs, political challenges and personal traumas, the family must find a way to survive and protect its legacy from those that would see it destroyed.

The success of the core Yellowstone series has resulted in numerous prequels and spin-off series, including 1883, 1923 and 1944, while series 5 Part 2 of Yellowstone arrives on Paramount+ in November. The instalment will mark the end of the Yellowstone series starring Kevin Costner, though a number of new seasons for some spin-offs have been announced alongside all-new content.

Fans’ love of the franchise continues to grow, fuelling ever-increasing demand for new content and consumer products. Yellowstone’s official YouTube channel has 1.33m subscribers, while its TikTok account has 2.8m followers. Viewers can watch the show on Paramount+ and Channel 5.
