Princess Sam appoints IMC as agent for Tara Duncan

Published on: 4th September 2023

IMC Licensing will act as agent for Princess Sam property Tara Duncan in multiple markets, including 17 Latin American and Caribbean territories.

Princess Sam Consumer Products (PSCP) has announced that it has appointed a licensing agent for the children’s animated adventure-comedy-fantasy hit Tara Duncan in multiple territories across Latin America and the Caribbean.

International Merchandising Consultants (IMC Licensing) will handle licensing for this fast-growing property in Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Caribbean Islands, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Puerto Rico, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela. IMC will have the support of promotions and licensing agency company Panamericana de Licencias (CPL) in many of these regions.

Founded by Leonardo Gutter, who has run the company for over 40 years, IMC Licensing is an Argentina-based business that represents brands across a wide range of categories and ages, ranging from pre-school hits and classic characters to pop and rock, design, lifestyle, sport and much more. Its core markets are Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia but its reach extends to many other parts of the Latin American and Caribbean region.

This appointment is another major boost for this fast-growing property. The Tara Duncan campaign has already appointed Brand-Ward Services to manage licensing for the property in the UK, Consumer Products Connection in Spain and Portugal, J&M in the Benelux region and Maurizio Distefano Licensing (MDL) in Italy. To further promote broadcast growth, the Princess Sam Entertainment Group recently appointed major international distribution company Superights as global distributor for Tara Duncan. Superights will represent worldwide rights distribution, except in Mainland China.

First published in 2003, tens of millions of Tara Duncan books have been sold worldwide. The animated 52 x 13’ series launched in 2022; total sales of the first series now exceed 80 countries. A second season, with 52 new episodes, is currently in production, with plans to produce 2 x 26’ special episodes. A digital ecosystem is also being developed to expand Tara’s universe and to delight Tara fans – known as ‘Taraddicts’.
