Moonbug appoints Peter Stone as first ever chief Marketing officer

A nine-year Netflix veteran with a background in marketing for some of the world’s leading studios, Peter Stone will be based in Moonbug’s London office.

Moonbug Entertainment, a part of Candle Media, has announced the appointment of Peter Stone as chief Marketing officer (CMO). Reporting to Rene Rechtman, CEO, Peter will be responsible for Moonbug’s global marketing strategy as well as the evolution and growth of its brands.

Peter joins the team at Moonbug to support the business’ journey building global franchises that resonate with kids and families around the world. Moonbug’s growing brands continue to see significant expansion, with Blippi entering the Roblox world, Morphle soon launching on Disney+ and Disney Junior, and the new CoComelon show, CoComelon Lane, launching exclusively on Netflix.

As part of his role, Peter will be responsible for global brand marketing, franchise management and consumer engagement, bringing alignment and focus across the marketing function.

A nine-year Netflix veteran, Peter was most recently head of International and UK Film Marketing at the company. He joined Netflix in 2014 and held various marketing leadership positions in LA, Tokyo and Amsterdam before relocating to London. Before Netflix, he led theatrical marketing at Legendary Entertainment, where he worked closely with filmmakers and the studio teams at Warner Bros. and Universal. Prior work includes Walt Disney Animation Studios and Monitor Deloitte.

Peter holds a masters in Business Administration from Harvard Business School and a BA in Political Science and Spanish from Brigham Young University. He is a member of BAFTA and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences and is a published novelist.

Peter will be based in Moonbug’s London office from 6th December 2023.
