Studiocanal drops trailer for Paddington in Peru

Published on: 14th June 2024

Arriving in cinemas on 8th November, Paddington in Peru sees the Brown family set off on a thrilling adventure into the Peruvian rainforest to locate Paddington’s missing Aunt Lucy.

Studiocanal has released the first official trailer for its highly anticipated third instalment in the Paddington movie franchise, Paddington in Peru.

In the trailer, which is a little over two minutes, we see the Brown family head to Peru to visit Paddington’s beloved Aunt Lucy, who rescued Paddington as a young cub and now resides at the Home for Retired Bears. Upon arriving, the family is informed that Aunt Lucy has headed off on a mysterious quest and not been seen since, prompting the Browns to mount a search and rescue mission that will take them deep into the lush, dangerous rainforests of Peru and up its highest mountains.

Directed by Dougal Wilson, Paddington in Peru stars Hugh Bonneville, Emily Mortimer, Antonio Banderas, Olivia Colman, Julie Walters, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin and Jim Broadbent, with both Ben Whishaw and Imelda Staunton returning as the respective voices of Paddington and Aunt Lucy. Newcomer Carla Tous plays the role of Gina Cabot.

The film began principal photography in July 2023, filming in London, Peru and Colombia, and is fully financed and developed by Studiocanal, which will distribute the film in the UK, France, Germany, Benelux, Poland, Australia and New Zealand as well as through partners in China and Japan. Sony Pictures will distribute in the USA, Canada and other key international territories including Latin America. Paddington in Peru is produced by Heyday Films.

Paddington and Paddington 2 have been huge successes for the studio, taking in over $500m at the box office. The popularity of the movies led to the creation of a new CG animated series for pre-schoolers, starring Ben Wishaw, The Adventures of Paddington. The series centres on a younger Paddington as he writes letters to Aunt Lucy celebrating the new things he has discovered through the day’s exciting activities and has been a hit since first airing on Nickelodeon in 2019.

Paddington toy and game licensees include Rainbow Designs, Ravensburger, Redan Publishing, Craft Buddy, Ty, Tonies and more.
