Warner Bros planning Willy Wonka movie

Warner Bros is set to develop a new film that will centre entirely around the famous chocolatier, Willy Wonka.

The studio has acquired the rights to the Willy Wonka IP from the Roald Dahl estate, and is developing a film that will focus on Wonka’s early adventures before he met Charlie Bucket.

Producer David Heyman, who worked on the upcoming film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, is set to produce the film alongside Michael Siegel, manager of the Dahl Estate.

Kevin McCormick will be executive producing the movie, while Simon Rich will be writing the script.
