UK animation studio Spider-Eye to develop Todd Parr TV series

NY Times best-selling children’s artist/author, Todd Parr, has entered a co-development arrangement between Spider Eye and SupperTime Entertainment to develop a new original animated series.

The team came together the first time for a 2016 short film Parr created for Sesame Workshop, produced by SupperTime’s Gerry Renert and animated by Spider Eye. According to Gerry Renert, President of SupperTime, “The experience was so smooth and seamless and Spider Eye got Todd’s work so well, it seemed to be a natural to try our hand at another project.

"What’s changed most is how many in the Publishing World now look at me not as just an author/illustrator but as a ‘Feel Good Brand,’" commented Parr, who currently has over 40 books selling around the world, "consistently bringing themes of understanding, compassion, and kindness to kids and parents– in silly, disruptive ways they connect with. In my first conversation with Spider-eye, we discussed how we might put my themes and style of disruption into an original series. I liked what I heard."

Development for the series has begun with the first materials to be presented at MIPCOM 2017.
