Tattoo confectionery brand will widen distribution to grocers, independents and newsagents soon after

Tung Toos to enter Toys R Us this January

RoBel Confectionery is ramping up the distribution of its range of flavoured tongue tattoo sweets, Tung Toos, launching in Toys R Us at the end of the month.

The range will then expand across new grocers, independents, convenience stores and newsagents, guided by the food brand Multiple Marketing.

The expansion plans will be accompanied by a new deal between the popular children’s sweets firm and the global brand Hello Kitty.

New Hello Kitty Tung Toos will be made available from February 2014 in a series of Bazooka Candy packs containing a candy ball that opens to reveal a Hello Kitty figurine and a strip of Tung Too flavoured tattoos featuring Hello Kitty designs.

Tung Toos has already enjoyed success across the US, Canada, Australia and Germany, and has attracted brands such as Disney Princess, Airheads, Cars and Moshi Monsters, as well as major retail partners such as General Mills.

Victoria Lebor, RoBel Confectionery, said: “We’re thrilled to be working alongside an experienced and widely known confectionery industry professional like David, and Multiple Marketing, the name behind so many famous food and drink brands.

"With these names and the global hit Hello Kitty on board, I’m certain that 2014 will be the year when UK confectionery retail gets a real taste for Tung Toos.”
