The Fred Rogers Company appoints first licensing manager

The Fred Rogers Company has expanded its management team in a move to grow its key entertainment brands.

The entertainment company behind popular properties including Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and Peg + Cat has named Micah Southwood as its new licensing manager.

The position is a newly created role for the marketing professional who will work closely with the firm’s consumer products, business development, finance, marketing and external licensing partners.

“We are so excited to welcome Micah to our growing team,” said Paul Siefken, vice president, broadcast and digital media, The Fred Rogers Company.

“Micah is a creative, hands on professional with a wealth of relevant marketing experience that we will draw upon to enhance our promotional campaigns and expand the success of our brands.”

As licensing manager, Southwood will be responsible for working with existing agents and expand partner relationships as well as grow new licensing opportunities for the company.

Micah boasts a wealth of experience in the field, having held tenure as assistant marketing manager at Allstate as well as promotional execution planner for Sears Holdings.

She said: “I am thrilled to be part of this exceptional company, which has produced standout programmes and properties that have positively shaped the lives of children and their families for generations.

“I look forward to working with my new colleagues to further develop the company’s licensing programmes and provide kids and families with fresh and exciting opportunities to connect with their favourite programmes and characters.”
