The February issue of Toy World is online now

Published on: 31st January 2023

As well as the latest toy and licensing news and product information, the February Toy World previews Spring Fair and takes a look at eco-friendly/sustainable toys.

Toikido CEO and founder Darren Garnham catches up with Toy World to discuss how the company is leveraging disruptive, content-led IP that wins with kids and retailers alike.

Reflecting the growing demand for greener toys, our eco-friendly/sustainable toy feature showcases the latest offerings in this category, including suppliers which are moving away from plastic packaging to those looking at alternative materials such as wood, recycled plastic and even sugar cane.

We also shine a spotlight on the numerous toy companies who will be at Spring Fair at the NEC, Birmingham (5th-8th February) and chat to Bhavika Pattni, key account director for organiser Hyve Group to hear about the show’s increasing focus on sustainability.

Continuing the theme of sustainability, Dr Philipp Hummel, head of Sustainability at Schleich, tells Toy World readers more about the company’s recently announced promise to make all its figurines either recyclable or biodegradable by 2027.

In the February issue, we take a look at how Christmas trading panned out, speaking with retailers including B&M, Toytown and The Entertainer, as well as some smaller, independent toy stores in our regular Talking Shop feature.

There are also regular features such as NPD Insight, Letter from America and Allegedly, plus a selection of the latest news and industry moves from the toy and licensing industries.
