The Beano celebrates Red Nose Day with special cover design

The Beano is celebrating Red Nose Day this year with a special red and gold pop art inspired front cover.

The cover will feature the many facial expresses of Dennis the Menace, each sporting the iconic Red Nose to encourage readers to support Red Nose Day’s ‘make your face funny for money’ campaign.

The special issue of The Beano will hit shelves on Wednesday, March 11th.

Inspired by an illustration from a vintage The Beano Annual, the cover is the creation of Dennis the Menace illustrator, Nigel Parkinson and features a rarely used gold metallic ink.

The Beano has only used the ink in question once before, when the kids’ title celebrated Jessica Ennis-Hill winning Gold at the 2012 Olympics.

“This week’s special issue sees The Beano celebrating al things Red Nose Day,” said The Beano editor, Craig Graham. “We want to encourage our readers to get involved with the ‘make your face funny for money’ campaign, and Dennis and the gang show them how to do jus that, albeit in the most mischievous way possible.”

Red Nose Day returns on Friday, March 13th.
