Beano Studios brings Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed to the big screen with special episodes screenings

Beano Studios is bringing Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed to the big screen through a distribution partnership with Generation Media that will see six hand-picked episodes of the popular series screen across the UK and Ireland this October half term.

The episodes, packaged under the Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed! On The Big Screen title will air back to back in a 70 minute long screening which will also include bespoke interstitials featuring jokes and songs inbetween episodes.

Chosen episodes will include Bathmaggedon, Beat the Bus, P Factor, Spud U Love, Things Get Chilli, Molar Power, and a sneak peak at the as yet unaired episode, Thumb Wars.

The critically acclaimed Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed! received nominations from the British Animation Awards, Kidscreen and an International Kids Emmy. The show’s second season premiered on CBBC in July 2020 with more new episodes premiering this winter.

H&A teams with Beano Studio to launch mischief-making bath accessories range

The health, beauty, and bath accessories specialist, H&A has partnered with Beano Studio to launch a new and exclusive range of products inspired by the iconic British comic into Boots stores across the UK. The partnership was brokered by Beano’s UK licensing agency, Rocket Licensing.

Each product in the range will feature an extra element of mischief, such as a whoopie cushion, mini comic book, jokes and more, aligning the collection firmly with the Beano brand ethos. Highlights of the range include a MEga Stink Bath Set, Stink Bath Bomb, and Deniis Mug and Socks.

Licensing and marketing manager at H&A, Holly Orton, said: “We’re really excited to see this hit the shelves. Beano is a brand loved by generations and we’ve had fun developing the range. There’s definitely nothing else like it in the market and we’re looking forward to supplying some entertainment for Boots customers and their loved ones this Christmas.”

The new range from H&A forms part of an extensive licensed product offering for Beano, which continues to grow ahead of Dennis’ 70th anniversary next year.

Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed will be returning to television this month with a new, second series, courtesy of Beano Studios and its renewed broadcast deal with CBBC.

The new series is comprised of 52 episodes, each following the unpredictable and exciting adventures of Dennis and friends in Beanotown. it kicks off with episode one titled Beat the Bus that sees new teacher Miss Mistry taking Class Three on an outing to the Flumes ‘o’ Doom water theme park.

Last year Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed season one received nominations at Kidscreen, the British Animation awards and was nominated for an International Emmy. At launch it was the highest-rated animated show on CBBC for six to 12-year-olds and one of the top 10 shows for kids across all channels (including The X Factor and Strictly Come Dancing).

Beano Studios lands new global broadcasters for Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed via Jetpack Distribution

DreamWorks, the NBCUniversal International Network’s 24-hour channel for kids and family entertainment, has picked up seasons one and two of Beano Studios’ hit TV series Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed.

The broadcast deal covers territories across Asia-Pacific including Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Myanmar, and the Maldives. It is joined by the South African free-to-air channel e.tv who has acquired the rights for season one.

These latest broadcast deals have been secured by the independent kids and family distribution business, Jetpack Distribution working on behalf of the award-winning content business, Beano Studios.

Further to this, and following the success of the first season, Germany’s free-to-air TV network, Super RTL has acquired the rights to season two, which is currently in production. The deal covers Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Ireland’s RTE has also bought the rights to air the second season, while Lagardere’s Canal J (M6 Group) has acquired the rights to air season one in France.

 Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed! follows the adventures of Dennis and his canine side-kick Gnasher, around Beanotown. They’re joined by his great mates Rubi, JJ, Pieface (and his pet potato Paul), as mischief and everyday rebellion rule the streets. The International Emmy-nominated show has been sold globally and season one already airs on free-to-air networks including Super RTL (Germany), Rai (Italy) and France Télévisions.

It is also available on Netflix in the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand. The show launched in 2017 on CBBC in the UK, promptly taking the number one spot across all kids TV. Season two launches on CBBC this Summer.

Toybox Labs signs deal with Beano Studios for 3D printed toys

The kids 3D printing platform, Toybox Labs, has licensed a cast of Beano Studios’ characters in a groundbreaking new deal that brings the first premium toys to the Toybox platform.

The agreement means that kids and fans will now be able to download and print their favourite Beano characters from the global TV hit Dennis & Gnasher: Unleashed!, currently streaming on Netflix in the US. Each toy will have a small purchase price from $2.00 to $5.00.

Following its Netflix streaming deal, Dennis and Gnasher: Unleashed! now reaches over 200 million people around the globe, and is based on the characters from the world’s longest-running weekly comic, Beano. Both Dennis and Gnasher will be among the Beano characters made available for kids to 3D print at home.
