Rainbow eyes further expansion into publishing with Winx Club

Rainbow is eyeing further expansion in to publishing at the firm makes its return from this year’s Frankfurt Book Fair.

The family entertainment specialist took to the event in order to highlight the publishing potential of its popular girls’ brand Winx Club as well as its new property, Royal Academy.

Celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, the Winx Club property is comprised of 156 animated episodes, two feature length movies and an already burgeoning presence in the publishing sector.

Recent book deals for the Winx Club brand include Viz Media, Redan, AZ Books and Edel, proving the firm is no stranger to the European publishing industry.

Meanwhile, award-winnig animated property, Mia and me has recently signed publishing agreements with Egmont, Studio fun, Redan, Penguin, random House, Hachette and Panini.

Royal Academy now looks set to match the success of both Winx Club and Mia and me, according to Rainbow, as the firm looks to mirror the activity within the publishing world.

“We brought two established publishing success stories to Frankfurt – Winx Club and Mia and me – along with one of the hottest new prospects on the market in the shape of Royal Academy,” said Cristiana Buzzelli, VP, content of Rainbow.

“We were very excited about meeting up with delegates who wanted to tap in to the potential of these magical properties.”
