The CBeebies' star of Kate & Mim-Mim took part in special party hosted by George Osborne to raise awareness for the children's charity.

Mim-Mim supports Starlight Children’s Foundation at Downing Street party

CBeebies star, Mim-Mim from pre-school series, Kate & Mim-Mim rubbed shoulders with the stars at a special Christmas party held on Downing Street.

The giant purple bunny joined singer, Geri Halliwell, McBusted, Dick and Dom and Pixi Lott at a star-studded event hosted by the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne in the staterooms of number 11 Downing Street.

The tea party was held to raise awareness for the Starlight Children’s Foundation for children with serious and terminal illnesses.

45 youngsters from the foundation were greeted by a host of Christmas characters and decorations, while Father Christmas was on hand to note their special Christmas wishes before visitors took part in arts and crafts activities.

“We were absolutely delighted that we were able to support this fantastic event,” said Tessa Moore, SVP global brand management, FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment.

“Starlight Children’s Foundation is a wonderful charity which brings great joy to seriously ill children and their families.”

Neil Swan, Starlight’s chief executive, added: “The Starlight Children’s party is a wonderful event for our poorly children and we are very grateful to have the support of FremantleMedia Kids and Family Entertainment for providing characters like Mim-Mim to help entertain the children.

“45 seriously ill children attended the party and they all absolutely loved meeting Mim-Mim.”
