Published on: 23rd February 2023

More announcements are expected throughout 2023 as series two builds on the popularity of MeteoHeroes, which is already available in 180 plus countries.

Mondo TV Studios, part of Mondo TV Group, has announced the continuing success of its award-winning environmentally themed hit kids’ animation MeteoHeroes – co-produced by Mondo TV and Meteo Expert – with the arrival of series two (52 x 11’) in Portugal and Chile.

The first 26 episodes of series two of MeteoHeroes recently arrived in Portugal with an SVOD launch of the series on the streaming service and app Panda+. These episodes were also recently launched by Chilean public service broadcaster Televisión Nacional de Chile (TVN) for its cultural family channel NTV, focused on children and youth audiences. Both Panda+ and TVN will launch the remaining 26 episodes later this year..

Series one of MeteoHeroes (52 x 7’) arrived in March 2022 on NTV by TVN and on Panda+ in the second half of 2022.

More announcements are expected throughout the year as series two builds on the popularity of MeteoHeroes, which is already available in more than 180 countries and 22 languages. In April 2022 the second season of MeteoHeroes had its world premiere on Cartoonito in Italy, with great ratings. Four 26-minute TV movies have been shown on Cartoonito in recent months.

A videogame, MeteoHeroes – Saving Planet Earth, co-produced by Mondo TV Studios, Sony Interactive Entertainment Spain and Gammera Nest, was launched on digital platforms early last year and is available on PlayStation Store (PS4 and PS5) and STEAM platform (for PC). The game went on sale in October as a physical version for PlayStation4 published by independent distributor Meridiem Games in several European countries. It has also recently won the PlayStation Talents Award for Best PlayStation Commitment Game.

The new series of MeteoHeroes builds on the success of the first series as six young heroes learn how to use incredible powers that allow them to control weather phenomena. As they continue their training with the world’s finest meteorologists at the Meteo Expert Center, they are called upon to defend the planet from climate change and pollution.

Maria Bonaria Fois, CEO of Mondo TV Studios, said: “This action-packed, funny and beautifully produced show has clearly caught the imagination of youngsters everywhere. In fact, the growing reach of the show into new territories underlines the strength of the MeteoHeroes brand and, of course, its important message about taking better care of our world.”
