Firm appoints two new international sales executives.

Marvista Entertainment expands European footprint

An increase in original productions and an aggressive acquisition strategy are fuelling expansion of Marvista Entertainment’s sales operations.

The firm has added two new directors to its sales team, bolstering its international operations.

Rod Rodrigo, former sales director for IMC Vision, and Andrew Whiteman (pictured), who joins from Power Media Entertainment, will both be based in London and each will hold the title of director of distribution. They will report in to Marvista’s VP of distribution, Vanessa Shapiro.

Rodrigo will focus on selling to the UK, Scandinavia, Benelux, Greece and Turkey, while Whiteman will concentrate on Germany, Central and Eastern Europe, as well as Russia and the CIS.

"Our business is expanding so rapidly with over 2,000 hours of top notch content playing out across more than 125 markets around the world, and our commitment to continue investing in original and acquired content has fuelled greater growth," said Shapiro.

"Both Rod and Andrew are highly skilled sales executives with a keen understanding of production, marketing and consumer media consumption trends and share our vision for providing quality programming that is well suited to buyers’ brands and distribution platforms.

"They are a welcome addition to the Marvista sales team, and I’m very confident that they will be tremendous assets in continuing the momentum the company has created over the past decade."
