Eight different games have been designed to help children develop counting, creativity and literacy skills

Magic Light Pictures launches Room on the Broom Games app

Magic Light Pictures has launched its first interactive app in the form of Room on the Broom Games.

The app is based on the picture book written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler and features eight different games including Join the stars, Dragon loves chips and Find the hat, each designed to help children develop counting, creativity and literacy skills.

“We are delighted to be extending the Room on the Room brand with this new dedicated games app," said Martin Pope, co-founder, Magic Light Pictures.

"This is Magic Light Pictures’ first move into developing and producing interactive games and we are excited to be building on the brand as well as continuing to engage with new audiences.

"We wanted the games to be absolutely part of the wonderful world which Julia and Axel created – featuring much loved characters, landscapes and even flying.

"I am confident the Room on the Broom app will be just as successful as the film and book, and we look forward to developing more apps in the near future.”

The new app has been developed by Magic Light Pictures with Stormcloud Games and is now available on the AppStore for iPad, iPad Mini, iPhone and iPod Touch and Android devices, priced at £2.99.

The Room on the Broom book has sold over two million copies worldwide and the animated film has aired in over 167 countries.
