Published on: 18th January 2023

As part of its UK licensing strategy, IMC Toys bolsters Cry Babies Magic Tears brand with new announcements.

IMC Toys is set to strengthen the licensing roll out for its hugely successful Cry Babies Magic Tears brand. Alongside a fresh new Tropical brand theme launching in the spring, and brand-new animated episodes scheduled for release shortly, 2023 will see a whole host of new UK licensees coming on board.

Poetic Brands will be launching a full range of Cry Babies Magic Tears kids’ apparel, which will include day wear, night wear, underwear and swimwear. In addition, RJ Bags will be giving its popular range of bags, lunch bags, luggage and umbrellas the Cry Babies Magic Tears treatment.

Sticker specialists Paper Projects will be launching a range of stickers, reward charts and sticker activity sheets, all designed to bring the Cry Babies characters to life. Finally, leading children’s magazine publishers Kennedy Publishing will be producing a branded CBMT magazine packed with stories, arts & crafts and lots more, which will enable kids to learn more about the different characters and their various themed worlds.

“We’re thrilled to have so many stellar UK licensees coming on board for 2023,” commented Kerry Tarrant, marketing manager at IMC Toys. “We’ve seen great success internationally with licensing agreements across the globe, so it’s very exciting to be taking similar bold steps to develop and grow the CBMT brand here in the UK. It’s shaping up to be another fantastic year for with more licensee announcements to follow in the months ahead.”

Gemma Witts, managing director at Retail Monster commented: “Cry Babies is going from strength to strength, with strong toy sales and the show performing extremely well, so we look forward to working with these licensees to drive some really strong campaigns at retail in 2023.”

A selection of the new licensed products will be displayed on IMC’s stand at London Toy Fair later this month. The company can be found on Stand E94.

New episodes of Cry Babies Magic Tears will launch this year, available to view on Nick Jr., Netflix and Kidoodle.
