Galaxyland Powered by Hasbro enjoys opening celebration

A week-long celebration that reveals the completion of the first phase of Galaxyland in Canada will kick off on 17th December.

The official Grand Opening ceremony to commence the transformation of West Edmonton Mall’s renowned amusement park to Galaxyland Powered by Hasbro  will take place on 17th December, 2022. The event will kick off a week-long celebration that reveals the completion of the first phase of Canada’s first Hasbro-themed Park. A total of three and a half acres of family-friendly rides will be transformed into an amusement park wonderland for fans of the global play and entertainment company and its powerhouse brands.

“We’re thrilled for the opening celebration of Galaxyland Powered by Hasbro and to offer this new experience to families,” said Matt Proulx, vice president, Location Based Entertainment at Hasbro. “With celebrated brands that parents, grandparents and kids of all ages recognise, this amusement park showcases Hasbro’s immense brand-building capabilities through unique and exciting real-life experiences.”

The red-carpet event is open to the public and will be the first-time guests will see the transformed Main Gate grand entrance that features a fleet of Hasbro’s iconic characters in larger-than-life facades. A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be followed by a parade led by Mr. Potato Head, Monopoly’s Rich Uncle Pennybags and more.

All week-long, guests can participate in the Ride Passport game for a chance to win prizes all while experiencing the newly themed additions. There will be daily prize giveaways on-site, mascot meet and greets, live entertainment and many more on-site activities to kick off the new attractions.

Over a dozen rides have been converted to create immersive experiences from Hasbro’s globally recognised brands. Guests will be able to celebrate in the Play-Doh Party Space Pad and experience the new Monopoly Railroad Train. Easy Bake Bites will feature mini doughnuts that can be decorated, and so much more.

The completion of the first significant phase of the park includes Hasbro themed rides and games such as Trouble Twist, My Little Pony’s Flight to Equestria and Rainbow Bounce, Hungry Hungry Hippos Feeding Frenzy adult bumper cars, Sorry! Sliders Bumper Cars, Play-Doh Dizzy Doh-Dohs, Micro Machines Moto Jump and Micro Aero Squad. Attractions will also include the iconic Mr. Potato Head, Monopoly and Operation game brands.

Park enthusiasts can follow updates on West Edmonton Malls Facebook and Instagram pages. The second phase of Galaxyland Powered by Hasbro is expected to be completed in 2023.
