Finnish heritage brand Finlayson lines up wallpaper partnership with York Wallcoverings

Published on: 10th February 2020

Jewel Branding and Licensing has secured a new partnership between the Finnish heritage brand, Finlayson, and the wallpaper specialist, York Wallcoverings, for a new collection of wallpaper featuring Scandinavian design elements.

The collection was planned for an early 2020 debut, which also coincides with Finlayson’s monumental 200th anniversary.

York Wallcoverings launched a new collection of Finlayson brand peel and stick wallpaper under their RoomMates brand, featuring unique patterns inspired by a blend of nature and Nordic minimalism.

Included in the collection are neutral and pastel toned florals, leaves and plant patterns. The peel and stick Finlayson wallpaper can be easily removed and repositioned on walls throughout the home.

Founded in 1820, Finlayson is known for iconic Scandinavian design with roots in social responsibility, innovation and striking elements. It was in the forefront of the Scandinavian design movement and is home to one of the largest archives of recognisable Nordic designs in the world.

“We are thrilled about our new collection of Nordic inspired wallpaper with Finlayson,” said PJ Delaye, president of RoomMates. “The minimal, fresh aesthetic signature to the Scandinavian culture is a thriving trend that continues to be in high-demand as we enter 2020.”

“We are so excited for our brand to touch the lives of so many Americans,” said Tiina Mikkonen, export director at Finlayson. “By partnering with York Wallcoverings, we can introduce the simplicity and natural elements of Scandinavian lifestyle to people on a much larger scale.”

JBL, Finlayson’s licensing agent in North America, brokered this partnership and has secured the rights to represent the Finlayson brand in all categories in the USA and Canada for an additional three years.
