DHX Brands takes Teletubbies down under with Haven Licensing

Popular pre-school property, Teletubbies is making waves down under with new licensing and merchandising activity in Australia and New Zealand.

DHX Brands, the consumer products arm of DHX Media has appointed Haven to represent the property’s licensing activity across the territory.

The announcement follows news of a new deal with toy manufacturing VTech to develop a host of electronic learning products for Teletubbies, with product scheduled to roll out in the UK next year, followed by the Australian market.

“Teletubbies has a huge heritage in the Australian market and Haven is superbly placed as one of the leading agents worldwide, to capitalize on this phenomenon,” said Peter Byrne, EVP of DHX Brands.

“This appointment is a strategic step ahead of the international broadcast roll-out as we gear up globally for the brand.”

DHX Brands has also appointed Character Options as global master toy licensee and Egmont for global master publishing.

“We are extremely excited to be working with the fabulous DHX team on this iconic brand,” said Tom Punch, managing director of Haven Licensing.

“We are confident that the wonderful high quality new series will grab the attention of little Aussie kids and holds the potential to be as successful as the original series.”
