Construction specialist Cobi details latest licensed builds

Published on: 12th May 2023

Cobi, a Polish toy manufacturer specialising in historical and modern military models, is set to launch major new products in Q2 and Q3 and has become a Toymaster supplier.

Cobi is kicking off this year’s new launches with a model based on the renowned BAE Hawk T1 Red Arrows. The Red Arrows is the official aerobatics display team of the Royal Air Force, utilising one of the UK’s most recognised modern-day aircraft in its incredible aerial feats. Arriving at retail later this month, Cobi’s 386-piece model has been developed in a 1:48 scale that matches the rest of the company’s Armed Forces line. Each piece is coated with durable colour and the cabin can be opened. The set includes a display stand with the name of the aircraft and the emblem of the aerobatic team.

In April, Cobi unveiled the biggest and most important launch in its history: a brick replica of the most recognised tank in Bovington’s famous Tank Museum. The Tiger 131 has been transformed into an impressive 8,000-piece 1:12 scale model. With an impressive length of 70 cm when complete and weighing a substantial 6kg, this replica has many new features designed especially for this large and realistic model. Features include: new wheels and tracks, a detailed, removable engine, a detailed interior and suspension components waiting to be discovered during construction. Retailers are advised to get their pre-orders in now to avoid disappointment.

Cobi continues to develop ranges for its Company of Heroes digital gaming platform, in which players assume the role of the Allied Forces’ during the invasion of Italy and North African campaigns. The latest, third instalment of the game was released in February along with 10 SKUs to complement the game. This range is a must for fans of strategy games, military enthusiasts and hobbyists. A video showing some of the new CoH models can be seen below.

Cobi appointed Lee Crocker to the role of sales director earlier this year. In his role, he will lead Cobi in developing the UK business and its licences within the Toy and Hobby markets, plus museums and entertainment venues. Earlier this month Cobi also became an official Toymaster supplier. Lee commented: “Having just spent the last two months visiting 40+ Toymaster members across the country, I believe Cobi’s scaled military models will be a good fit within the independent market, complementing some of the ranges already stocked from other manufacturers.”
