Bibi & Tina amusement park to open as brand develops overseas

Published on: 2nd November 2022

Bibi & Tina is a classic brand in Germany, with decades of success across audio adventures, books, merchandise, animated series and movies.

Kiddinx, the German audio stories and plays creator and publisher is announcing several high-profile initiatives at home and abroad, including the opening of a Bibi & Tina amusement park in partnership with Karls Markt OHG.

Bibi, a 13-year-old witch and her friend, Tina, are united in their love of horseback riding. The Bibi & Tina IP ranks in Germany’s top five best liked kids’ brands, and has garnered 600m streams on Spotify, 59 gold and 29 platinum records, with storytellers sales exceeding 27m.

“We are very pleased to be developing the world’s first Bibi & Tina amusement park in Elstal, near Berlin, with the amusement park professionals from Karls.” said Holger Küchler, managing director of Kiddinix Media GmbH.

The site covers a total of approx. 60,000 m2 and will feature activities related to horses, riding, games and fun, and a themed hotel and a retail area are also planned. The extensive construction project is expected to last two years and the attraction will open in 2024.

Kiddinx Media is also looking to conquer the hearts of children outside Germany and has partnered with Zebralution and Warner Music Group to spearhead the distribution of Bibi & Tina’s vast library of audio plays in English speaking territories.

Karl Blatz, head of International Business Development at Kiddinx Media commented: “Together with our partners, Zebralution and Warner Music Group, we have set up worldwide distribution for our radio play and audio book series, now available on all major audio streaming platforms  With modern entertainment spiralling into faster and more hectic forms of amusement, children aren’t able to learn how to concentrate. This is where high quality audio entertainment can help by encouraging children to wind down, close their eyes and enjoy an adventure that sooths the soul.”

Nils Hollmann, managing director at Zebralution, said: “The proven storylines, quality of production, different voices and sophisticated sound system truly appeal to children. The rise of voice assistants (smart speakers) combined with streaming is increasing kids’ media-autonomy, and I am confident that this autonomy wants to discover Bibi & Tina’s great potential.”

In order to support the introduction of Bibi & Tina audio stories in the USA, the UK and other English-speaking territories, Kiddinx Media is working with UK-based influencer marketing platform, Influence Network. In one month, the influencers’ posts were seen close to 300,000 times and gained 3.3m impressions, and the collaboration has now been extended to run for the whole year. In addition, Brand-Ward Services is developing a social marketing campaign targeting English markets’ audiences across TikTok, Facebook and Instagram, and has secured placement of the animated series Bibi & Tina on several VOD platforms such as Ameba, Playground TV and Roku.

“Now is the time for international audiences to discover Bibi & Tina, a true German icon.” said Jean-Philippe Randisi, the owner of Brand-Ward Services, the company advising Kiddinx on its international expansion.
