BBC Studios confirms new deals for Bluey and Hey Duggee

Published on: 19th April 2023

BBC Studios has announced new licensing deals for its award-winning pre-school shows, Bluey and Hey Duggee.

New signings OTL Technologies, Blueprint Collections and Alligator Products further build on a successful start to 2023, adding new product lines for fans.

Expected to launch in autumn/winter 2023 in the UK and EMEA, new headphones, walkie-talkies and microphones for both shows will be produced by OTL Technologies, design and manufacturing specialists of licensed audio accessories and consumer electronics. Blueprint Collections will offer social stationery for Bluey and Hey Duggee in the UK and Ireland, with new lines launching, also in autumn/winter. Additionally, Alligator Products, which came on board earlier this year, will be a paper arts & crafts partner for Bluey.

Chris Malone, sales director and partner at OTL Technologies, said: “We are so excited to be extending our character range of headphones, walkie-talkies and microphones to include the much-loved Bluey and Hey Duggee. We have no doubt that these new products will delight both little ones and their parents.”

Lisa Shand, managing director at Blueprint Collections, added: “We are very pleased to have inked a deal with BBC Studios and cannot wait to bring our beautiful and stylish social stationery ranges for Hey Duggee and Bluey to the fans.”

Louise Rigby, licensing manager at BBC Studios, added: “We’re thrilled to be partnering with category-leading licensees who are as passionate and committed – as we are – to extending the fans’ enjoyment of our incredibly popular pre-school shows with a fresh selection of innovative and creative retail lines.”

New episodes of Hey Duggee Series 4 are set to air on CBeebies in the autumn, a new Series 3 episodes of Bluey is anticipated to land on Disney+ later this year, and a second album, Bluey: Dance Mode, is slated for release on 21st April.

The multiple BAFTA and international Emmy award-winning hit Hey Duggee was the most streamed children’s show on BBC iPlayer in 2022, for the third year in a row. The Olivier-award winning Hey Duggee The Live Theatre Show, the TV show’s first-ever stage adaptation, is also selling-out theatres as part of a nationwide tour. 8th Wonder, Trends UK and MV Sports & Leisure have recently renewed their licensing contracts for Hey Duggee and new products from Character Options and HTI Toys are coming to retail this year. Additionally, Master Toy Golden Bear is investing in new formats for Hey Duggee and has named Sleepy Time Duggee as its hero line for autumn/winter 2023.
