BBC Studios, which recently merged with BBC Worldwide to form a singular commercial entity, has confirmed its presence at Vegas Licensing Expo, bringing such worldwide hit brands as Doctor Who, Top Gear, BBC Earth, Hey Duggee, Something Special and Strictly Come Dancing to name a few.

“This year marks a new phase for one of our biggest global brands, Doctor Who, as Jodie Whittaker takes on the iconic title role as the first female Doctor, paving the way for new products with current and new partners; the brand is poised to reignite, and grow.”
At the forefront of BBC’s offering, Doctor Who will no doubt see a big push ahead of the first series to feature a female doctor.
Titan has renewed its licensing agreement for Doctor Who with figurines, apparel and gifts heading to store shelves in 2018. In addition, in the US, Canada, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand, Funko has renewed their licensing deal for “Pop Vinyl” figurines, “Rock Candy” figurines and novelties.
Meanwhile, Lady Sandra, who has brought to market incredible home goods for the brand, including comforters, pillows and more, has renewed for US and Canada. Also, home decor licensee Rabbit Tanaka has renewed in the U.S. and Canada for various home goods, including lighting, mirrors, clocks and wall décor. Further new deals for Doctor Who will be announced in the coming months.
The brand will continue to see support from long-standing global licensees including Character Options, Penguin Random House, Winning Moves, Eaglemoss, Kokomo and Brand Alliance.

With a refreshed presenting line up − that sold to more than 130 territories last year − and series 25 currently on air on BBC Two, BBC Studios is looking to expand its already impressive licensing portfolio for Top Gear. Current successful partnerships include Zeon, TDP, Aykroyds, Topps, Dreamtex, Kinnerton, Danilo and Cooneen.
Assured Products Ltd recently signed up to create car cleaning gift kits for the UK market. Meanwhile, in the US and Canada, Top Gear-branded backpacks and bags are on the horizon from licensee DC Safety.
Something Special will see support from a range of toy firms, whereas Strictly Come Dancing will be presenting its first licensed board game from John Adams.
Finally, BBC Earth will spring into licensing with plush toys from Whitehouse Leisure and calendars from Museums & Galleries.
