The children’s entertainment division of APC Studios has tapped License Connection as its licensing agent for the Kid-E-Cats brand across the Benelux region.
APC Kids has turned to License Connection, who will now be responsible for building the Kid-E-Cats licensing programme in the region, with target categories including publishing, apparel, puzzles and games, as well as stationery, bags and homewares.
The new products will support the upcoming range from Kid-E-Cats’ global master toy partner, Toy Plus, with the first products launching at the end of 2019.
Leading Russian entertainment company, CTC Media, is the brand owner of Kid-E-Cats, while APC Kids holds global TV and consumer product distribution rights to the property (excluding Russia, CIS and China). The property is already celebrating consumer products success across Russia, Europe and South America.
Lionel Marty, managing director of APC Kids, said: “The Kid-E-Cats brand has been increasing its European presence following a raft of broadcast and licensing deals including Egmont’s publishing agreement in CEE and the appointment of a growing number of Italian licensees, following the show’s success on channels such as Puls 2 in Poland and Cartoonito in Italy.
“We are confident this collaboration with License Connection will help us put the brand on the map in Benelux where the show airs on Nick Jr, complemented by upcoming product lines from our master toy partner Toy Plus.”

The series is based on an original Russian series produced by CTC Media and Studio Metrafilms and is the second-best performing pre-school series in Russia. The third season is currently in production following a commission from CTC last year and series one and two are currently available on Nick Jr internationally in over 170 territories following a deal signed between APC Kids and Nickelodeon International last year.
