Half Moon Bay welcomes Iain Wakefield to head of licensing and business development role

The licensed product and gift wholesaler, Half Moon Bay has welcome Iain Wakefield to the team, as the industry veteran takes on the role of head of licensing and business development.

Having added close to twenty new licenses across its three divisions for 2019, Half Moon Bay is now looking to further expand and enhance its relationships with retailers across all areas of its business.

Wakefield boasts over 25 years publishing and brand licensing experience. For the past 14 years he has been managing the licensing division at Haynes Publishing, where he worked closely with Half Moon Bay on a range of giftware and Haynes Explains gift books.

Prior to working at Haynes, Wakefield has held positions at HarperCollins Publishers and Universal Studios.

He commented said: “I have been fortunate enough to work with Half Moon Bay for many years and long admired the company. I’m looking forwards to joining the team at such an exciting time and helping to further grow the business.”

Half Moon Bay’s managing director, Peter Thompson, added: “I’ve known Iain for over 10 years and am delighted he’s joining the team here. Iain’s international licensing knowledge and his publishing experience will really help Half Moon Bay as we continue to grow both our gift presence and our Ice House Books publishing imprint.”
