Masha and the Bear sets Guinness World Record as most watched animation on YouTube

Masha and the Bear has set a new Guinness World Record as the most watched animated movie on YouTube with over three billion hits.

The exact number has come in – at the time of writing – at 3,424,087,722 views of its hit episode Recipe for Disaster, marking a new record for those in the category.

First launched in January 2009 on TV, Masha and the Bear is a worldwide hit 3D animated family show that features Masha and her best friend Bear.

It is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year with a worldwide YouTube fan base. Recipe for Disaster is the only animated video included in the list of top ten most watched YouTube videos of all time.

Masha and the Bear is also the first animated pre-school series to be aired in the International Space Station in the summer of 2017.
