The Point. 1888 to build out Tinpo licensing roster

The Point. 1888 has been named the UK’s exclusive licensing agent for the newly-launched animated series Tinpo.

The appointment – made by Cloudco Entertainment – follows the series’ successful debut on CBeebies last month.

Launched in December via a prime slot on CBeebies, Tinpo is already proving popular with its pre-school audience in the UK. Combining themes of construction and unconventional problem-solving, the main character Tinpo and his team solve problems in their unique world in ways that are never practical but always fun.

Meanwhile, The Point. 1888 has been making waves in the industry, flying the flag for the next generation of brand licensing. The team will be working with Tinpo owner Cloudco Entertainment to secure a number of long-term sustainable licensee partnerships across a spectrum of licensees and retailers.

The Point.1888, the brand will be looking at publishing, toys, home, arts and crafts, puzzles and games with the first products expected to be released from AW2019.

It is hoped the programme will drive greater awareness for the brand as it enters its first full year on the CBeebies channel.

Representatives from Cloudco Entertainment and The Point.1888 will be attending next week’s Toy Fair at London Olympia to promote the new licensing opportunity and secure licensee and retail partners.

Bethan Garton, retail and brand director, The Point.1888, said: "As a mum, I’m only too familiar with the brilliantly fun and educational content on CBeebies.

"To be able to work with Tinpo which has already made such a big impression on the channels’ viewers is incredibly exciting and we can’t wait to show the impact a brand licensing programme will have.”

Roubina Tchoboian, director of international licensing, Cloudco Entertainment, added: “Cloudco Entertainment is no stranger to brand licensing but with The Point.1888 we saw something different on offer.

"Their honesty, dedication and relationships with retail buyers really made them stand out to us and with Tinpo still growing in popularity in the UK, the match felt right.

"We’re delighted with our decision and excited to be developing some new products for Tinpo’s fans.”
