Mattel continues to build out its new global franchise management division

Mattel has made yet another appointment to its senior management team this time in the form of Frederic Soulie, the firm’s new senior vice president of content distribution and business development.

Soulie has been hired with the remit of overseeing Mattel’s approach to strategic content distribution on a global scale and across all platforms. It comes as Mattel looks to strengthen its presence across movies, consumer products and digital gaming.

Earlier this month, the toymaker detailed the launch of its new global franchise management group and appointed the former Saban executive Janet Hsu to the role of chief franchise management officer.

Soulie – a highly experienced leader in content distribution and strategic partnerships – will report to Hsu. The pair have worked together before, when Soulie oversaw global distribution and consumer products a Saban Brands working on the likes of Power Rangers.

Prior to that, he managed digital distribution strategies at Endemol and has previously held roles with DIC Entertainment/Cookie Jar Entertainment, as well as Intermix Media/MySpace.
