Disney Parks partners with Lyft for ‘Minnie Vans’

Disney Parks has unveiled a new partnership with digital taxi service Lyft, for a new initiative appropriately named Minnie Vans.

The vehicles, decorated to resemble the iconic Dinsey cartoon character, will pick up visitors at Disney’s Boardwalk Resort and Yacht & Beach Club Resorts in Orlando Florida, hailed from the smartphone and tablet app.

The drivers will be dressed in full Disney cast member attire, and can transport families of up to six passengers throughout the resort.

Lyft has strongly pushed driverless car technology with co-founder John Zimmer commenting that the company would have driverless cars on the road within five years. This programme will no doubt be an ideal testing ground for the tech as the firm makes advances with its research.
