Liverpool welcomes Shrek ahead of DreamWorks Lights event

DreamWorks Animation’s Shrek took a tour around Liverpool’s St George’s Hall ahead of the DreamWorks Lights event this month.

The walkthrough lantern event will also be a part of Liverpool’s One Magical City Christmas campaign and features figures of characters from Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, Madagascar and more.

During the event, there will be more than 100 lantern figures and 25 scenes inspired by the DreamWorks film for fans to enjoy.

Guests will also get the chance to get up close with Shrek as part of a special green-screen photo experience.

Richard Hollis, head of UK consumer products at DreamWorks, said: “It’s very exciting to be able to bring our wonderful lantern experience to the UK for the very first time,” reports The Guide Liverpool.

“We chose Liverpool because it is an iconic city, a true cultural capital known all over the world for its great events – and the stunning location of St George’s Hall is the perfect setting for DreamWorks Lights."

DreamWorks Lights will kick off on November 26th, 2016 until January 15th, 2017.
