British Museum teams with Portfolio for greeting cards

Greeting cards publisher, Portfolio, is set to develop a line of greeting cards for the British Museum, boasting the museum’s collection of art and artefacts.

24 designs will be included in the initial range, boasting a wide selection of works from ancient to contemporary and fine art to sculpture.

“With its access to some of the most beautiful, historic and striking art and artefacts anywhere in the world, the British Museum collections are a perfect source of memorable images,” said David Corner, director of Portfolio Ltd.

“We are thrilled to be working with such a prestigious name – and a famous central London neighbour – on this unique range of greeting cards.”

The range is set to launch in February 2017 and is the latest addition to the British Museum Licensing programme, which launched in 2016.

Craig Bendle, manager of merchandise licensing at the British Museum, added: “This superb selection from a respected name in the field brings a world of history from across the centuries to a worldwide audience.

“Portfolio has done a wonderful job of bringing some of the museum’s best-loved objects to a superb range of greeting cards.”
