Pre-school entertainment firm, Silvergate Media is extending its hit series Octonauts’ adventures in the Russian market.
The international TV production and licensing company has renewed its broadcast agreement with the leading Russian broadcasting channel CTC for the popular animated series.
The move will be supported with the launch of a range of Octonauts toys from Fisher-Price across the region this September, while Silvergate’s agent Megalicense is negotiating new publishing and merchandising deals.
Octonauts has already proved to be a popular property in Russia with YouTube views exceeding 10 million each month and the series airing daily on the number one kids’ channel in the region, Karusel.
“Russia is an important new market for Octonauts and we are delighted to have CTC and Karusel as our partners,” said Ron Allen, SVP commercial, Silvergate.
“Retailers’ response to the toy launch has been excellent and we look forward to Octonauts being a leading pre-school property in Russia.”
Now in its fourth season, Octonauts is aired in over 100 countries across the world, including on Disney Channel in the US and CBeebies in the UK.
