Lily’s Driftwood Bay takes home Prix Jeunesse International gong

Sixteen South’s pre-school animation Lily’s Driftwood Bay has taken home the Prix Jeunesse International 2016 award.

The show beat 23 other finalists from countries across the globe including Iran, Canada, Chile, USA, Germany and Hungary, in the Up to 6 Fiction category.

Colin Williams, creative director at Sixteen South, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that Lily’s Driftwood Bay has been recognised in one of the most important competitions, and by such a prestigious jury against so many other wonderful shows from around the world.

“It’s a huge testament to our team here in Belfast who have worked so hard to create such a unique, distinctive and charming series.”

The Prix Jeunesse Awards have been designed to promote excellence in children’s and youth TV programmes from around the world, and adds to the show’s list of honours, which includes a Broadcast award, a British Animation Award (BAA) and an Irish Film and Television Award (IFTA).
