Fireman Sam debuts Summer Safety campaign to mark Child Safety Week

Mattel’s animated kids show Fireman Sam is launching a nationwide campaign to highlight the importance of keeping safe in the summer.

In partnership with Child Safety Week, the initiative run by the Child Accident Prevention Trust (CAPT) aims to raise awareness of child-related accidents and how they can be prevented.

The campaign, which will run alongside Child Safety Week from June 6th to June 12th, aims to teach parents and children about summer safety with Fireman Sam’s Top Ten Summer Safety Tips.

Helen Genia, consumer products category manager at Mattel UK, said: “Fireman Sam is a great role model who champions action, bravery, community and safety within everyday life.

“With the summer holidays fast approaching, the Summer Safety campaign is a relevant and fun way to relay key safety messages to children and parents during the summer, and what better way to kick it off than by teaming up with CAPT around Child Safety Week.”

Fireman Sam and his team will also star in a series of videos, to help inform families of any potential hazards that can cause accidents this summer.

Katrina Phillips, chief executive of the Child Accident Prevention Trust, added: “The Fireman Sam Summer Safety videos are a fantastic way to support Child Safety Week – helping families learn about safety while having fun. We’re proud to be working with Fireman Sam to keep children safe this summer.”
