Mattel’s leading fashion doll Barbie has scooped the People’s Voice award in the Online Commercial category in the 20th Annual Webby Awards for the brand’s Imagine the Possibilities film.
Presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, the Webby Awards is the global award honouring creative excellence across the internet.
The online film called Imagine the Possibilites was launched to re-appraise the role Barbie has in a child’s life and having garnered over 50 million views online has been championed for achieving new innovation and creativity on the internet.
The film, part of a campaign created by BBDO San Francisco in conjunction with BBDO New York, was selected as an award winner among a panel of International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences judges including Tumblr founder David Karp, musicians Questlove and Grimes, head of fashion partnerships at Instagram, Eva Chen, Twitter co-founder Biz Stone and more.
