Sesame Street to make HBO debut in January 2016

Big Bird, Oscar and Bert and Enrie will be making their return to TV as HBO dates the 46th season of the hit children’s show, Sesame Street.

The network will launch the latest series of the Jim Henson Company production on January 16th 2016, as it kicks off at 9am Eastern and Pacific Time.

Meanwhile, fans of the show will have access to five years’ worth of Sesame Street episode via HBO Go and HBO Now.

However, for those looking for a dose of nostalgia – expect to see some changes. Having made the move from PBS to HBO, the show will shift from its original 60 minute running time to 30 minutes an episode.

Further more, the iconic Sesame Street theme song and opening sequence will receive an ‘upbeat update’.

However, the show insists that its signature characters and ‘commitment to teaching kids memorable lessons,’ will remain at the heart of the new Sesame Street series.
