Kidscreen East will be making its international debut this year with a keynote speech from Nickelodeon.
SVP of programming and acquisitions for Nickelodeon Jules Borkent will help launch Kidscreen’s three day business and networking event with an inside look at the global kids network’s multiplatform strategy.
The new conference aims to bring kids media execs from the east and west together and will take place from July 22nd to 24th in Qingdao, China.
The event will also see Hit Entertainment’s Michale Carrington, eOne Family’s Olivier Dumont, The Jim Henson Company’s Richard Goldsmith and Mattel’s Rob Hudnut all take to the stage.
They will be joined by further big names from the likes of American Greetings Properties, Sesame Workshop, Little Airplane Productions and Nelvana.
In addition to attracting kids media producers, distributors, broadcasters and consumer products professionals, Kidscreen East will be attended by a number of leading Chinese executives, drawing from the China Animation Association’s membership.
Around 400 companies currently belong to CAA, including 38 children’s and animation TV channels and China’s animation studios.
