Cartoon Network’s mobile and tablet app has been listed in the App Store and iTunes’ ‘Best of 2013’ hotlist.
Cartoon Network Watch and Play launched in October last year across Southeast Asia Pacific markets, allowing users to simultaneously watch videos from their favourite animation TV series and play games.
The popular app was recognised in several Asia Pacific markets, including Hong Kong, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
Since the it’s debut, the app has received more than 325,000 downloads with 1.8 million video plays and 2.2 million games played.
Mark Counsell, Turner International’s associate director of interactive, Asia Pacific, said: "We have always considered this app to be innovative and ground-breaking, so to get this confirmation from the App Store is welcome acknowledgement.
"In just two full months, we have seen impressive download and usage figures. Now we are looking forward to working with affiliate partners to kick-in the app’s authentication function which allows pay-TV subscribers to stream live Cartoon Network content."
Meanwhile, Cartoon Network’s Adventure Time Series Five has been selected as part of ‘Best of 2013’ titles hotlist on iTunes in Australia.
Featured alongside shows such as Game Of Thrones, the comedy Adventure Time is the only kids or animated show to make the list.
