UTA welcomes licensing veteran Paul Flett

United Talent Agency (UTA) has welcomed licensing and brand management veteran, Paul Flett, to its expanding team.

Flett joins the talent and literary agency from Sketchers USA Inc, where he held the position of SVP of global brand licensing since 2009.

Now joining the UTA’s branding, licensing and endorsements division, he will focus on licensing and brand management for both talent and corporate clients.

Flett will report to UTA partner Lisa Jacobson.

“Paul is that rare executive who has both years of experience developing and executing a wide range of domestic and international licensing programmes as well as impressive brand management and marketing experience,” said Jacobson.

“His addition to our team will help UTA continue to create global lifestyle brands for clients and forge industry-leading deals. We are delighted Paul has joined the agency.”

During his tenure at Sketchers USA Inc., Flett expanded the licensee business from five to 58 licensees and executed a partnership Li and Fung to design and market a full line of fitness and fashion apparel around the Sketchers fitness lines.

In January 2011, Flett helped forge a new division of Skechers: Sketchers Entertainment, to create branded entertainment geared to the Skechers kids market.

Flett has held numerous positions within the industry including with Warner Bros., where he developed licensing programs for well known franchises including Harry Potter, Batman and Looney Tunes.
